Louis and Jacques Bijvoet found Bivolino.
The adventure begins around the shirt: an essential piece of men's wardrobe, demanding in its construction and infinitely personal in the way it is worn.

From the Belgian workshop to the first computer-assisted measurements, then to online tailor-made: Bivolino has been building another idea of the shirt for more than seven decades – personal, precise and profoundly contemporary.
“Custom-made only makes sense when it really resembles the person who wears it.”
Founded in 1952 by brothers Louis and Jacques Bijvoet, Bivolino was born from a simple ambition: to produce quality shirts, with constant attention paid to the cut and the customer. The company is growing rapidly in Belgium and is developing its activity in several European countries.
This culture of well-made clothing has always been accompanied by a fascination for innovation. At Bivolino, technology and tradition are not opposed: they complement each other to make tailor-made products more precise, more accessible and more personal.
A Belgian family history marked by tailoring, intelligent industrialization, IT and finally digital tailoring.
The adventure begins around the shirt: an essential piece of men's wardrobe, demanding in its construction and infinitely personal in the way it is worn.
Bivolino is developing in Belgium and building industrial know-how without losing attention to clothing. At that time, the company would have up to 80 employees and produce several hundred thousand shirts per year.
Bivolino is developing an ergonomic measurement system in collaboration with IBM. This research opens the way to a new approach to tailoring: using body data to calculate the cut and pattern more precisely.
IT is integrated into the management and organization of production. A few years later, the annual capacity reached around 900,000 shirts. Bivolino thus confirms its vocation: to combine the textile industry and technology.
Under the leadership of Michel Bijvoet, Bivolino is transposing its tailor-made expertise onto the Internet. The customer can now create and order their personalized shirt online – a pioneering approach at the time and the beginning of Bivolino “digital tailoring”.
Bivolino integrates sustainability into its on-demand production model and introduces a carbon footprint calculator. Producing only what is ordered remains at the heart of a simple logic: personalize more, waste less.
Bivolino today combines an online configurator, choice of fabrics, complete personalization and biometric technology. A few essential data – height, weight, age and neckline – make it possible to establish a measurement profile without using a tape measure.
Discover AI Biometric Sizing →A shirt should follow the person, never the other way around. Bespoke starts with understanding the proportions and preferences of the wearer.
Fabric, collar, cuffs, buttons, monogram, contrasting details: each element contributes to creating a truly personal shirt.
From the computer of the 1960s to today's configurator, Bivolino uses technology when it makes customization simpler, more precise and more accessible.

Bivolino has always defended a personal vision of clothing. Style is more than just following a trend: it reflects character, occasion, mood and the way each person wants to present themselves to the world.
Classic, contemporary, creative, business or casual: the shirt becomes a base that everyone can interpret in their own way.
“Your style is special and unique because it reflects your character.”
After more than 70 years dedicated to shirts, our idea remains the same: to create clothing designed around the person who wears it.
